Huddleston Veterans Memorial Courts
By now, you have likely heard or read about the future Huddleston Veterans Memorial Courts. They are to be located on property at 3348 Trading Post road, which was acquired by the marina in 2021. Construction is moving along, and we hope to have sneakers on the ground by May 1, 2022. This project is one we have dreamt about for years, and we are more than excited to be able to see it through. There will be street/roller hockey, basketball, and eventually pickleball courts for all community members (not just Mitchell's Point Marina campers) to come and enjoy. We have been designated a Community Recreation Facility by Bedford County and are recognized as a pending 501(c)(3) tax entity.
The marina has completely funded the first $60,000 of this project, and we now rely on community and local business donations to complete, improve, and maintain the facility.
If you would like to be involved in this exciting community project and help contribute to the cost of construction, we have started an inscribed brick-purchase program for the future Circle of Honor to be located at the courts. This is a great way for you to honor a family member or friend in a way that can be revisited for years to come.PURCHASE BRICKS

Many men and women have given much of themselves in the service of our Nation. This facility is being built to honor the service of our Veterans, and to provide a first class recreational facility for the Huddleston community. This facility recognizes the selflessness and courage of Veterans, while at the same time doing a part in preparing the youth of today for the challenges of tomorrow through sport and healthy competition.
Our community will have a safe, well organized venue for full court basketball, street/roller hockey and pickleball. There will be both youth and adult leagues, as well as summer camps and lessons at the courts. We at Mitchell’s Point Marina see this as an investment in the future of our Nation. When our kids participate in team sports they learn the values of dedication, cooperation, self control and a myriad of other positive lessons.
Please consider recognizing a Veteran that is close to your heart by donating an inscribed brick that will be a permanent part of the Huddleston Memorial Courts Circle of Honor located at the facility.
Thank you in advance for your donation.
